THE BRIEF

The client engaged Form to design and build a large warehouse and office in Tauriko to accommodate their expanding operations.

THE BUILD

The two storey office and warehouse has been designed to maximise usage of the triangular shaped site. Offices, sales/admin areas, meeting rooms and staff rooms are located on the north side of the building. The remainder of the building is used as a warehouse/storage area. A total of 16 car parks are included on the site.

The sloping, corner site has two road access points. Intelligent engineering design was needed to balance functioning drainage services with the requirement for heavy vehicle access at opposite corners of the site.

The building’s exterior consists of a mixture of horizontal and vertical Colorsteel claddings. Contrasting colours and the mixed claddings give a modern industrial look to the building facade.

A clever use of eves above the north-facing tinted windows not only offer heat protection during summer but also enhance the overall appearance of the building.

THE OUTCOMES

The building start date was delayed due to the late issue of council consents. The programme was revised and all target dates were met.
