THE BRIEF

To construct a completely new four-storey accommodation wing, providing an additional 40 guest rooms for the Novotel Tainui building in Hamilton. Works to take place with minimal interruption to guests staying in the current building.

THE BUILD

The new accommodation wing creates an additional 1,200m2 of floor area, excluding the undercroft area. The entire wing is seismically separated from the existing hotel building. Hotel rooms were designed and fitted out similarly to existing rooms throughout the rest of the hotel. The new wing features aluminium cladding, extensive glazing and an undercroft area, allowing vehicles to continue to utilise the current entry and exit turning circle.

THE OUTCOMES

This exciting project progressed exceptionally well. It was a challenging and complex build, and our team worked very hard to exceed client expectations, delivering a defect-free project. Our works followed on from an extensive upgrade to the original building's bathrooms and we continue our excellent working relationship with Waikato Tainui.
