THE BRIEF

London Central is a large residential development in inner city Hamilton, featuring a combination of 18 apartments and 11 townhouses. Works to take place concurrently with blocks 1 and 2, which are to be completed by a separate contractor.

THE BUILD

The London Central complex has been architecturally designed, with mixed materials, including brick and aluminium cladding in complementary styles. Extensive landscaping and central entertainment areas foster an urban community.

The buildings are designed to maximise sun, light and views. Interiors finishes include stone benchtops, Bosch appliances, double glazing, heat pumps and digital security systems.

Each apartment/townhouse includes a garage and balcony, enhancing comfort for residents..

As there was concurrent construction of blocks 3 and 4 with blocks 1 and 2, communication between the two groups of contractors was vital to the success of the development.

THE OUTCOMES

London Central has resulted in the provision of thoughtfully designed KiwiBuild housing opportunities for local Hamilton residents. Some time saving initiatives were implemented, such as using pre-made roof sections, allowing works to be kept at ground level.
