THE BRIEF

The client’s vision was to expand on the current operation as a pick your own berry farm in Ruakura by creating a large café and restaurant. The completely new building will transform operations from a farm to an exciting tourism and local hotspot.

THE BUILD

The café/restaurant is an architecturally strong building, influenced by south island style and featuring extensive schist stonework. Large angular glazing provides expansive views across the berry fields and surrounding pastures. A sheltered al fresco dining area provides sunny and shaded zones for diners to utilise during the warmer months.

The artistic angles and extensive schist dominate an otherwise simple building.

THE OUTCOMES

Following some initial groundwork challenges, our dedicated team worked hard to reach programme milestones and deliver a premium building.
