Projects

If our people are our DNA then our projects are what defines us. The end result of all the hard work, approach and application of our expertise. With fast-paced growth in the commercial sector, we’re proud of the growing list of projects with Form’s name on them.

THE BRIEF

Whakatōhea Mussels Ōpōtiki Ltd engaged Form in an ECI arrangement to collaborate with the early stages of design for a state-of-the-art mussel processing factory in Ōpōtiki. Mussels are currently being farmed in the open waters and transported inland for processing. The new processing factory will help the Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board achieve their long-term vision of "Ko te kai hoki i Waiaua" - "To be the food bowl that feeds the world”

THE BUILD

The works consist of two large processing factory buildings with a drive-through canopy between them. There are a number of sections or functions across the factories, including areas for chillers, packing, tray-loading, storage, waste, staff amenities and loading.

A separate office, designed with resemblance to a marae, is located adjacent to the factory and will house staff and visitors. The open-plan office contains a lunch room, meeting rooms and a commercial kitchen.

THE OUTCOMES

Form has an established presence in Ōpōtiki through our involovement with local Kiwifruit developments. We have worked closely with our client, offering flexibility and expertise to the project. Where possible, we have engaged local subcontractors and suppliers, thereby supporting the community's economy.
