If our people are our DNA then our projects are what defines us. The end result of all the hard work, approach and application of our expertise. With fast-paced growth in the commercial sector, we’re proud of the growing list of projects with Form’s name on them.

To construct three new buildings of 1400m² each. With each building housing a coolstore and four controlled atmosphere stores at Trevelyan’s Pack & Cool in Te Puke.

Form were engaged early to assist with buildability advice through the design phase and to commence the early procurement of critical building components in order to meet the restricted project timeframes.

The structure of the new buildings comprise concrete slabs and foundations and a structural steel frame.  The envelope is completed with metal roofing and wall cladding, with insulated panel walls and ceilings constructed inside the structure.  The concrete floor slabs were poured after the erection of, and between, the insulated panel walls to ensure the best possible airtight seal.

The scope of the project also includes construction of a 360m² plantroom, suspended between two of the new stores, as well as 3000m2 of new canopy, extensive areas of concrete pavement, a network of plant support framework structures, and new drainage infrastructure.

The building platform was excavated and prepared by a separate contractor who was still working on site after construction had commenced.  Form maintained close communication with this contractor and have developed the programme to accommodate the earthworks, ensuring both parties could continue their work in tandem and safely.

With the challenges of a tight site and delays caused by weather and other factors outside of the contractor’s control, Form are working to accelerate the works as best possible.  This includes working closely with the Trevelyan’s electrical and refrigeration contractors to integrate their works into the programme to ensure the new facility is operational as soon as possible.

Form are actively working to re-sequence the works, including giving priority to getting the plantroom complete and commissioned and one coolstore building operational as soon as possible to assist Trevelyan’s with ensuring they have sufficient storage capacity for their kiwifruit.

The overall project is on track for completion in July 2022.
