Projects

If our people are our DNA then our projects are what defines us. The end result of all the hard work, approach and application of our expertise. With fast-paced growth in the commercial sector, we’re proud of the growing list of projects with Form’s name on them.

THE BRIEF

One of the largest schools in the southern hemisphere, Rangitoto College has a role of close to 3200 students. Form was contracted to address weather tightness remediation, structural upgrades of the existing structure, new build works and civil works. All work was to be delivered within an operational school environment.

Working to weather tightness design and project management by Prendos NZ Ltd, the contract required the delivery of six separable portions encompassing three buildings, over a two year period. Demolition, remediation, structural and services upgrade, alteration, civil services and alteration, roading, reclad and roof structure alteration and cladding, decking and landscaping were included.

THE BUILD

Separable Portion 1 – The Rangitoto Centre - remediation and reclad of curved walls, flat and curved roof areas, curved decks, building performance upgrade through structural and services and a new interior fit out transformed this building into a plush senior school study and social area and sports pavilion.

Separable Portion 2, 3, 4 – Rangitoto College Science Block - While the remediation of weather tightness issues was the key instigator in these portions of the project, an extensive services upgrade, construction of a 5m high 50m long structural retaining wall, structural renovations and alterations, landscaping and roading works featured strongly in the reconstruction of this building.

Separable Portion 5 & 6 – Rangitoto College Maths Block - The least extensive of the separable portions, there was limited roof work required and the remediation of the Maths Block began before the failure had caused major damage.

THE OUTCOMES

Heavy construction traffic and personnel movements within an operational school environment posed difficult conditions. Form maintained a good relationship with the schools representatives and the project team throughout the delivery of this project.
