This project involved comprehensive weathertightness remediation of the Westmount Apartments at 23 Upper Queen Street, Auckland. The works required installation of new brick external cladding, plastered concrete block, metal roofing, upgraded aluminium joinery and improvements to existing bathrooms.
The 7-storey apartment complex houses a total of 37 apartments from ground level to the fourth floor, including parking in the basement, part of the ground floor and on levels 1 and 2. Executed as a single-stage, unoccupied remediation, Form was able to successfully implement full perimeter site protection.
Repairs included the removal of exterior stucco wall cladding, replacement of exterior wall framing and redesigning and replacing parapets. The exterior wall cladding was substituted with brick veneer, ensuring compliance with current weathertightness standards.
