Trevelyan’s Coolstores 42-44

Industrial
Early Contractor Involvement
7 months
$11 million

Form was enlisted early to provide buildability counsel during design, and initiate early procurement of critical building components for constructing three 1,400m² buildings at Trevelyan’s Pack & Cool in Te Puke.

Each building accommodates a coolstore and four controlled atmosphere stores. The structures feature concrete slabs, foundations and a structural steel frame, enveloped by metal roofing and wall cladding. Insulated wall panels and ceilings were installed for an effective airtight seal. The project encompasses a 360m² plant room suspended between two coolstores, 3,000m² of canopy, extensive concrete pavement, a network of plant support framework structures and new drainage infrastructure.

Collaborating with a separate contractor for excavation and site preparation, Form ensured synchronised progress. Despite various challenges, including a confined site and weather delays, Form was able to expedite completion, prioritising the plantroom and one coolstore for operational readiness, aligning with the client’s completion goal.
