This project involved the construction of a new primary school with Tamaoho (Belmont) School serving as a design reference. The project entailed creating an administrative block, a two-storey teaching facility featuring 18 classrooms, a single-storey Learning Support Unit (LSU) and a single-storey Northern Health School to cater to the emerging Milldale residential development in North Auckland.
The school structures feature shallow concrete foundations, structural steel frames, brick veneer cladding, aluminium joinery, and metal warm roofing. The design adheres rigorously to Ministry of Education design standards, surpassing typical building code requirements.
The Ministry benefited from an accelerated six-month design timeline, encompassing both the main school and a temporary on-site school that remained operational until the completion of the primary construction phase. This streamlined approach ensured compliance with meticulous Ministry of Education standards while expediting the overall project timeline.
