Projects
Project Overview
A 480m2 three-storey architecturally designed home which takes full advantage of the sun for warmth and natural light providing for good inner and outer entertaining for large groups.
The Brief
The client had paused for the best part of two decades since first acquiring the land so they knew exactly what they wanted – a warm home that took full advantage of the sun.
The Build
Full length glazing features in all of the north facing rooms. Solar water heating further exploits the suns golden rays while under floor heating see the house will remain comfortably cosy year round.
The house has a grandiose spaciousness to it enhanced further by the tall seven-foot internal door height.
The extensive use of Tasmanian oak throughout the interior joinery and cabinetry lends a rich warm complexion to the homes interior. The inclusion of smartwood joinery throughout provides the practicality of solid modern aluminium joinery while retaining the classical natural look of timber inside.
The kitchen is modern and sleek providing an excellent hub for entertaining guests. Self-contained guest accommodation on the second floor includes a luxurious ensuite and its own living room with adjoining private roof top patio.
The generous wine cellar is a feature and the personal lift provides the practicality that will serve the owners and their guests well for years to come.
Outcomes
A very happy client and a home that is as warm, rich and full-bodied as a good wine while also possessing a permanence of structure and style that both Form and the client will be proud of for years to come.
